guess the object?

whew. so, i've come to realize that this blog takes some dedication...that i am now preparing myself to handle. haha. everyday i do write down an encounter(that way i don't forget) or snap a photo of something i found humorous, peaceful, or random.

i promise i will be better at getting the pictures and stories up on this dazzling page.. going from pre-rookie to rookie! woo!

so, i'm easily entertained...not kidding around. the other day i found myself wrapped up in the "coolness" of this object...it fascinated the hell out of me. after looking at it for some time, i grabbed my camera and took a few pictures with different angles. this was my favorite. i zoomed in pretty close. any guesses on what it is?

monday, monday.

this weekend kinda flew by...
saturday was funky. i hit my knee relatively hard, enough to make it bleed for half a second. that dang bathroom drawer had jumped out and got me on more than one occasion. but this time it was enough to make me dizzy and pass out. as i awoke kynlyn(my 5 yr old) saw that my knee had blood on it and was sitting there with an inch by inch bandaid for my banged up knee. =)

sunday was fabulous.
i spent it brunching at the most delicious breakfast place...southside walnut cafe in boulder. great atmosphere, tasty food and friendly people.

afterwards i hit up the avery brewery in boulder for a little open mic session to watch my friend's band, eat the sun. matt, guitarist and vocalist describes their music as a little wierd, life metal. i wasn't sure what to expect. i love all music but, i can only truly appreciate or survive a few minutes of noise metal. don't take it personally.

avery had a very comfortable feel about the place. i almost felt like i could of been at home. it was warm, cozy and inviting all the way down to the bathroom. when eat the sun started playing the whole room came alive. everyone stopped what they were doing and were really in the moment of the music. matt, his brother dave (also guitarist and vocalist) and dan (bass) are currently looking for a super chill, amazing, drummer. if anyone knows of someone or is interested in the boulder/denver area.
here's their link to check out a couple songs....

get your stache on!

tonight was like any ordinary night at work. smile, sling fries with a pound of ranch, refill, refill and repeat.

until this man walked in with his lovely wife!

as i passed by the table where they were sitting i noticed his crazy mustache right away. i had to do a double take, kinda like when you see women with their large boobs popping out...you just have too.

i knew i had to talk to him to get the story behind his 7 inch flavor savor. cully and his wife shirley, happily gave me a few minutes of their time with warm smiles. after a full year of growing cully had reached a length quite close to the picture above and decided to cut off a few inches last winter. after 2 years of rockin and maintaining his mustache, cully's had many people approach him to talk it. too many times, shirley has said she's overheard comments about it. so i'm not the only one.

whether you're a lover or hater of the mustache, march is coming fast and men all over the world will be holding competitions for the best stache, most disturbing, and most fitting.

so ladies, if you're man participates in these...just remember, it's part of their manly hood.

i did a little research and if you're gonna join in on dirty fuzz month, there are charities set up for mustache mania. so you can be manly and support a good cause! there is one next saturday, feb 6th in denver. all donations and 10% of sales will go directly to support make a wish foundation.

here's the link for a few more details. check it out.

little debbie

woop woop for friday!

so there are a certain few people who know how much i LOVE, LOVE, LOVE zebra cakes. and now those of you who don't...well now you know. =)

zebra cakes are aHHmazing, except for the rise in price over the last decade from $.99 for 10 little delicious debbie's back in high school (that's when my lunch consisted of mt dew, zebra cake and a cig.) to $2.19 for 10 delicious little debbie's. but still very worth it.

normally, zebra cakes are white with fudge stripes. duh. but, during special times of the year debbie likes to spice things up with tiny christmas trees (with sugar sparkles. yum.) and little pink hearts. you've got to be on top of your game around christmas to get a box of cakes. they are hard to come by and sell like hot cakes, believe me.

this morning i got a text message from a friend, steve, saying he had a present for me. =) having been a while since i received a gift for no obvious reason, it's safe to say, i was pretty thrilled to find out what it was. this morning steve went above and beyond! i would even call it an unbridled act of kindness. =) he surprised me with little pink zebra hearts! (mind you, they were the last box on the shelf.) he remembered a silly conversation we had a few days back about them and knew how much i LOVED those heavenly creme filled cakes!

thank you steve for spreading little debbie love!
and god bless zebra cakes!!!!!
the weekend is almost here, enjoy!

i was gonna save you one, but i eated it.

the beginning

hello to all you lucky people reading my blog. i'm beginning this adventure of blogging with an open mind as to where it may lead. i've decided after all the random happenings in my life as well as the the people i encounter in my everyday life, that it would be fun and amusing to document some of the things that i come across everyday.

hence, the favorite thingamajigs of the day.

so...with that, my blogs are going to consist of diverse interactions with people of nature, nature itself, odd goings on, photography, products, local events, restaurants and shops, etc. you get the point.

every week i'm going to post a few random ideas on what i should take pictures of over the weekend. i would also love to hear any suggestions you may have, so don't be shy. there will be a poll (once i figure all this out) to come and vote. once the idea is voted in, let's just say it's a fire hydrant. i'm going to be running around over the weekend taking creative and inspiring (because fire hydrants are super inspiring) pictures of fire hydrants. on sunday evening, i will post my top 3. =)

i'm still getting the hang of all of this, so hold on tight!

hope everyone is having a shiney day!
